Richard Wong is a professional oriental brush and watercolour painter residing in Victoria, British Columbia.  He paints images of nature on oriental art paper and glass.

Born in Hong Kong, Wong spent his early childhood in Saskatchewan admiring the bright blue prairie sky and golden wheat fields before completing his university education on the West Coast.

He has been a full-time artist since 2011 when his wife gave him a watercolour kit for Christmas after his retirement.

Wong's art is influenced by his love of nature.

"I embrace a free-flowing, spontaneous style that channels intuition to capture unique and vibrant impressions of nature.  The beauty of our surroundings and much of what we see is affected and threatened by humanity.  Much of my work is about capturing and preserving the beauty of our surroundings and the wildlife in art, some of which are endangered."

His goal is to engage and connect people and communities at every level through art.

Richard Wong has exhibited widely.  His paintings have won awards and they are held by both private and corporate patrons.  His art on glass is enjoyed in many communities.
