Dr. Martin Segger
Martin Segger was the Director of the Maltwood Art Museum and Gallery at the University of Victoria, Victoria, British Columbia, from 1979 until his retirement in December 2010. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, a Diploma of Education from the University of Victoria, and a Master of Philosophy in Renaissance Cultural Studies from the Warburg Institute at the University of London. In 1982 he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Mary-ellen Threadkell
A career professional arts administrator, Mary-ellen has worked with the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bastion Theatre Company and the Welsh Arts Council. With a visual arts education and practice throughout her life, Mary-ellen coordinated the Art Gallery’s Paint-In on Moss St. for 15 years and has and extensive background with many other major cultural community outreach events, relationship building, marketing & promotions, and developmental fundraising in support the arts in our community. She is a board member of the Vancouver Island School of Art and the Victoria Visual Arts Legacy Society.
Phillis Olson
Phillis is President of the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center (PAFAC), and Webster’s Woods Art Park in Port Angeles, Washington. The PAFAC has just completed the most successful “Paint the Peninsula” plein air juried competition in four years. Professional painters from all over the United States, and Canada spend a week painting the Olympic Peninsula. Phillis was Co-Founder and President of the Job Carr Cabin Museum, a replication of the original 1865 cabin, in Old Town Tacoma. As President of the Old Town Business District, Phillis secured additional funding for a large-scale mural in Old Town, and developed the historic Women’s Walking Tour, including women who worked or lived in Tacoma from 1865-1890.
Morlene Tomlinson
Morlene is the Founding President of the Township Community Arts Council. She is a lighthouse and strategic beacon for TCAC's annual program of events and projects including Memorial Park Music Fest, Esquimalt Arts Festival, Sculpture Splash, Township Classics, TCAC Youth Mentorship Program and Artist in Residence at the Engish Inn. Morlene supports and works with a dedicated and active Board of Directors, TCAC members and Volunteers to help promote arts and culture in our community. Primary objectives of the TCAC are to help create a vibrant cultural hub in Esquimalt, encourage community pride and business growth.
