Jennifer Tinsley has lived in and visited many countries but finds no comparison to the beauty of Vancouver Island. She loves to explore the many beaches and forests on the Island where she finds unending inspiration for her acrylic paintings. She takes her camera with her during outdoor excursions and paints from her photographs. She enjoys playing with colour, movement, and shape within a composition, aspiring to depict a place as well as a mood. You can find a large body of Jen’s work in Willow Street Cafe in Chemainus, BC.
Jen also enjoys painting art for children. Some of her children’s paintings are displayed at the Somenos Medical Clinic in Duncan.
Jen Tinsley has a B.A. in Art/Secondary Education and has taught art in schools in the United States, Ukraine, and Canada. Currently she resides in Duncan, BC.
Jen says " I participated in ArtBeat in Chemainus the past 2 summers and am also exhibiting for the Ladysmith Arts on the Avenue at the end of August. I really enjoy connecting with people and have found these arts festivals to be a positive experience."
